How often does my grease trap need to be pumped?
It depends on how much you cook and the size of the trap. Most DFW kitchens land somewhere between every 30 and 90 days. The rule most cities enforce is that a trap gets pumped before grease and solids reach 25 percent of the tank. We size a schedule to your kitchen so you stay under that line without paying for pump-outs you do not need yet.
Do you scrape the trap or just pump the liquid off the top?
We pump the whole trap, then scrape the walls, baffles, and lid so the hardened grease comes out too. Skimming the liquid off the top is how a trap gets ticketed a month later. If it is not scraped, it is not clean.
Will you give me paperwork for the city?
Yes. Every pump-out comes with a manifest showing the date, the trap, and the gallons hauled. That is the record the city and the health inspector ask for, and we keep a copy on file for you.
